ZEYNEP BOYAN
Zeynep Boyan is a self-taught artist and designer based in Montréal working with clay as her primary material.
The base of her creative practice is an exploration and reflection of her visual memory; a culmination of spaces, nature, moods & expressions of self and past influences. A process nourished by transmitting the constant flow of consciously and subconsciously accumulating memories into unique objects.
She explores the transmission between visual memory and medium by focusing on natural materials and using classical techniques from a contemporary perspective. Aspiring to work with a material which she can disrupt in volume, shape, movement and body, clay allows her to engage in this process with its fluid & plastic characteristics. Each one-of-a-kind piece she creates is built and textured by hand, encompassing pinch, coil and slab methods and is high-fired in stoneware clay.

ESSENTIALS
The Essentials Collection is an exploration of the beauty of everyday things. A curation of objects that are made with care, built to last, feel good to use and to be around.
With an intention to deepen our relationship with the objects that surround us, each piece is created to be constant companions of their new homes. Handcrafted in Montréal, pieces are highlighted with the BOYAN stencil, built by hand or molded off of an original form designed by Zeynep, reproduced by slip casting and high-fired in stoneware clay.
